D10 stands withForsyth County CommissionerChairman Don Martin as Democrat colleague accuses him of racism |

Forsyth County Commissioner Mashia Woodbury |
And after a mildly heated exchange between them, Chairman Martin asked the county manager to make the budget discussion available to the public, which triggered wild accusations of racism against Chairman Martin. Woodbury knew that she could not reconcile her comments made during the school board meeting with her comments made during the county budget meeting. And Martin's request to to the county manager would expose that.
And we do know, based upon previous reports in the Journal, that Commissioner Woodbury did offer a motion to add a 2-cent increase to the county tax rate “to help with the 2026 school district budget that will be continually plagued by debt," Woodbury said during the meeting. But the motion failed because of none of her colleagues seconded the motion—including her fellow Democrats Dan Besse and Tonya McDaniel. Where are the charges of "racism" or "white supremacy" against Besse or McDaniel? Surely by not supporting Woodbury's motion, Besse and McDaniel displayed clear acts of racism, did they not? What is clear is that Commissioner Woodbury hoped that her grandstanding, during the school board meeting, would score political points with constituents. And it’s likely that Woodbury didn’t expect her comments to be challenged. Most Democrats believe they have the privilege to say anything they want with impunity. But Chairman Martin did challenge her and is forcing her to support her statements. Obviously, Woodbury does not want to be held accountable for her statements any more than Tricia McNanus or Thomas Kranz want to be held accountable for the $49 million deficit as the district's former superintendent and chief financial officer. And now Woodbury has resorted to the long-time leftist tactic of playing the victim. A tactic liberals turned to when they don't want to be held responsible for what they say and do.

By Sean McGowan, The Iredell County GOP and Affiliate Clubs enjoyed interacting with many patriots in the region at the annual Iredell County Agricultural Fair. Information was shared on municipal candidates in Statesville, Troutman and Mooresville, as well as the statewide judge hopefuls for 2026. Many candidates use this event as a springboard to reach voters in the region. All 2026 Republican primary winners are welcome to drop materials and meet voters at next year's Fair! Many volunteers helped set up, covered shifts, and registered voters! We were also visited by our District Chairman, Alex Nelson! The Iredell GOP endorsed the following candidates in Statesville municipals: Kristi Madison Pfeufer (Ward 2), Corina Iyoob (Ward 3), John Stafford (Ward 5), Trey Robertson and Braden Zittle (At Large - voters choose TWO). If you would like to help with municipal elections to Get Out the Vote for any of our municipalities, please email [email protected]. |
Forsyth County GOPhosts Club America event in Clemmons |
The Forsyth County GOP hosted an event that featured Haevan Gurerra, Senior Field Representative for Club America, at the Village Inn Hotel and Event Center in Clemmons in last week. Club America is the educational arm of Turning Point, USA in America's high schools. They have over 1200 chapters in schools across the across the country including a chapter in Kernersville. "We are 100 percent student led," Guerra told a group of about 35 attendees at the hotel. "We're here to help students start their clubs. I tell my students, you've got to do the work, you've got to send in the forms, and you've got to get it approved," she continued. Club America's mission is to educate high school students about the importance of freedom, free markets, and limited government; identify student activists across the country who believe in limited government and individual liberty; empower young activists by strengthening campus networks, attending conferences, equip them with knowledge and strategies needed to make a difference in their community; and mobilize students to get involved in activism, issue advocacy, public policy education, and grassroots activism. Club America has seen much success since it was launched, in 2022, by Turning Point, U.S.A. However it's biggest obstacles continue to be leftist teachers and faculty members not only from public schools, but from private and charter schools. Any high school student that wants to have a Club America chapter in their school, click here for more information.

Congressman Pat Harrigan introducesthe SkyFoundry Act |
![]() |
This week I introduced the SkyFoundry Act to make sure America can build drones at the speed and scale our troops need to win. Today, China and Russia are producing millions of drones a year, and those drones now account for most of the casualties in modern war. If America falls behind, we put our troops at risk and surrender the battlefield to our adversaries.
The SkyFoundry Act fixes that by creating the capacity to build one million drones a year here at home, using a supply chain completely independent of China. I already secured the initial SkyFoundry language in this year’s National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), but this legislation locks it in permanently. The goal of it is simple—give our troops the tools to dominate and ensure America is never again outproduced in the weapons that decide wars. |
